psalm 28: the heart of your solitude

when i call out to you
your answer is silence.
whether you hear my voice
or not is not my concern.

others might sit patiently for
your answer; let them wait.
for my part, i will descend
into the heart of
your solitude and seek my
answer in quiet
subterranean darkness.

there i will let go
of all my needs,
even of you.
there i will let my
supplication run free
like a song whispered
to a long lost lover in
the dead of night.
