psalm 70: absence itself

“The Emptiness in Me” by Romeo Tango” (

if you want to be my savior then
just walk away.
if you really want to rescue me
let me face my fears alone
and don’t let yourself be seduced
when you hear me
cry for you.

in times like these i know
your greatest gift is
absence itself.
listen carefully:
don’t you think my song to you
sounds all the more joyous
when you can hear the notes
echo and shimmer across the
open empty void?
